Senior Electrical Project Manager / Estimator
- Must live in or around the Charlotte, NC region.
- Frequent travel required (50%+), primarily throughout the Southeast
- Industrial construction experience preferred (freezer/cold storage, office buildouts, etc.)
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager / Estimator with a strong background in electrical systems to join their team. This role requires a combination of project management expertise and estimating skills to oversee electrical projects from conception to completion while ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead all phases of electrical projects, from planning and execution to closeout. Ensure projects meet quality standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
- Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead. Analyze project documents to identify scope and pricing opportunities.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive environment. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status, addressing any concerns, and managing expectations.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial performance aligns with project goals. Implement corrective actions as necessary to stay within budget.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with electrical projects and develop strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and budgets.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Quality Control: Implement quality assurance measures to ensure all electrical work meets applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of [5+] years of experience in electrical project management and estimating.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in estimating software and project management tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
