3rd Shift Supervisor - Bilingual

Shift: (7p-7a)

4 day rotating schedule


The Manufacturing Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of a manufacturing shift, ensuring the production of high-quality products in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This position involves direct supervision of a team of operators and technicians, ensuring adherence to production schedules, safety standards, and company policies. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, an understanding of manufacturing processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Supervision:
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff on the assigned shift to meet daily production goals and schedules.
    • Ensure production processes are running efficiently, safely, and within quality standards.
    • Monitor production output, resolve any production issues, and ensure minimal downtime.
    • Ensure that all equipment is properly operated and maintained during the shift.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of machine operators, assemblers, and technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
    • Provide regular feedback and conduct performance reviews for team members.
    • Ensure all staff members are adequately trained on equipment, procedures, and safety protocols.
    • Maintain a high level of morale and team engagement, addressing issues promptly and effectively.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure adherence to product quality specifications, conducting inspections, audits, and testing as necessary.
    • Address quality deviations, ensuring corrective actions are taken in a timely manner.
    • Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards, promoting a safety-first culture.
    • Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
    • Conduct safety audits, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.
    • Report and investigate any accidents, injuries, or near misses.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
    • Track and report production metrics, including output, quality, downtime, and efficiency, ensuring targets are met.
    • Assist in analyzing production data to identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare shift reports for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational issues.
  • Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement:
    • Address operational and equipment issues as they arise, ensuring minimal impact on production.
    • Implement and support continuous improvement programs, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, to optimize production processes.
    • Collaborate with other departments, including Maintenance and Engineering, to resolve technical issues and improve equipment reliability.
  • Inventory & Materials Management:
    • Ensure that materials and components are available for production and that inventory is properly managed during the shift.
    • Monitor and control waste, ensuring efficient use of raw materials.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or technical certification in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
    • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems is a must.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
    • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
    • Knowledge of safety standards, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement certifications are a plus.
    • First Aid and CPR certification are advantageous.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Ability to stand, walk, and lift items as needed.
    • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including noise, heat, or cold.
    • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
