Accounting Manager
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to lead accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to oversee daily accounting activities while supporting strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting team including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
- WIP Billing and Job Costing
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with senior management.
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff and ensure professional development.
- Assist with ERP implementation, upgrades, and other finance-related projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in [industry type, e.g., manufacturing, non-profit, tech, etc.].
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
