Staff Accountant

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be a degreed professional with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a keen ability to manage financial information with precision and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Assist with budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support business decisions.
• Conduct monthly and yearly closings, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accruals.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, cash receipts, and vendor payments.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve financial reporting.
• Participate in financial audits and implement audit recommendations.
• Maintain comprehensive financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting systems and software as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
• Previous Sage experience required
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various departments and levels of management.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
