Staff Accountant
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be a degreed professional with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a keen ability to manage financial information with precision and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Assist with budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support business decisions.
- Conduct monthly and yearly closings, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accruals.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, cash receipts, and vendor payments.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve financial reporting.
- Participate in financial audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Maintain comprehensive financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting systems and software as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
- Previous Sage experience required
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various departments and levels of management.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
