Job Description

Accounting Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to lead accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to oversee daily accounting activities while supporting strategic financial planning.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting team including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with senior management.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
  • Train and mentor junior accounting staff and ensure professional development.
  • Assist with ERP implementation, upgrades, and other finance-related projects.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in [industry type, e.g., manufacturing, non-profit, tech, etc.].
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
  • Knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
