Assistant Controller
We are seeking an Assistant Controller to play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the company. This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial statements, managing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
- Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant local, state, and federal regulations
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data for budgeting and forecasting
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management
- Help oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting systems
- Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- CPA or CPA candidate (preferred)
- 4 6 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
