Construction Assistant Superintendent


Our client is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join their team as a Construction Assistant Superintendent. This role is pivotal in assisting the Superintendent in managing construction projects efficiently and ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality construction projects.


Responsibilities:

  1. Project Coordination:
  • Assist the Superintendent in coordinating all aspects of the construction project from inception to completion.
    • Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
    • Monitor project progress and identify any potential delays or obstacles.
  1. Quality Control:
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
    • Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  1. Safety Compliance:
  • Assist in implementing and enforcing safety protocols and regulations on the construction site.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any safety concerns immediately.
    • Provide safety training and guidance to construction workers and subcontractors.
  1. Schedule Management:
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules.
    • Monitor daily progress and adjust schedules as needed to ensure timely completion of the project.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
    • Prepare regular reports for management on project status, progress, and any issues or concerns.
  1. Problem Solving:
  • Identify potential challenges or issues and work proactively to resolve them.
    • Collaborate with the project team to develop creative solutions to complex problems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience working in a construction-related role, with at least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and MS Office Suite.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
