Our client is a leading provider of high-quality healthcare services committed to improving patient outcomes and experiences. They are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Technician to join their team. This role will play an essential part in delivering patient care, assisting healthcare professionals, and ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility.
Position Overview:
The Healthcare Technician will work closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide direct patient care and support services. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care & Assistance:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs, patient symptoms, and medication intake.
- Assist healthcare professionals with medical procedures and treatments.
- Equipment & Supplies Management:
- Ensure availability and proper functioning of medical equipment and supplies.
- Sterilize and maintain medical instruments and equipment according to facility protocols.
- Restock supplies in patient rooms and treatment areas as needed.
- Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Document patient care activities, observations, and interventions accurately and timely.
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Assist with scheduling patient appointments and coordinating care as needed.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care planning and coordination.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere to healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Report any safety concerns, incidents, or issues to supervisor or management.
- Professional Development:
- Participate in training and educational opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Stay informed about current healthcare practices, trends, and technologies.
- Maintain certification and licensure requirements as applicable.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification as a healthcare technician or nursing assistant is preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or similar role is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and patient care principles.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
