Construction Superintendent Multi-Family / Wood Frame
Our client is a leading developer and general contractor specializing in multi-family residential construction. They are currently seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent with a strong background in wood frame multi-family construction to oversee on-site field operations.
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of assigned multi-family residential job sites. This includes coordination of all trades, enforcement of safety standards, adherence to project schedules, and delivery of work that meets or exceeds quality expectations. Candidates must have extensive experience in wood-framed (Type III or Type V) multi-family construction, including managing buildings with 3+ stories and 100+ units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all on-site construction activity, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, trades, laborers, and material deliveries
- Create and maintain 2-week look-ahead schedules aligned with the master construction schedule
- Conduct daily site meetings and safety briefings
- Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety protocols at all times
- Monitor construction progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager
- Ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate inspections with local jurisdictions and ensure code compliance
- Manage project documentation including daily logs, safety reports, and field updates using tools such as Procore or PlanGrid
- Resolve field-level issues and conflicts proactively
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a superintendent on multi-family wood-frame projects
- Deep understanding of Type III and Type V wood construction, including framing systems, fire-rated assemblies, and sequencing
- Experience managing complex projects with 100+ units and multiple buildings/phases
- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams and coordinate trades
- Proficient in construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- OSHA 30 certification required
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
