Our client specializes in delivering exceptional commercial construction projects with a focus on quality, integrity, and innovation. They are seeking a talented and experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of construction costs and processes.
Position Overview:
The Commercial Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role requires the ability to analyze project plans and specifications, solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers, and provide detailed cost breakdowns to support project planning and budgeting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimating & Cost Analysis:
- Review and analyze project plans, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Solicit bids from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Develop and maintain a cost database of materials, labor, and equipment rates.
- Identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Bid Preparation & Submission:
- Prepare and submit competitive and accurate bids for commercial construction projects.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely and complete bid submissions.
- Review bid documents and contracts to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Project Planning Support:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to support project planning and budgeting.
- Provide cost estimates and analysis to assist with project scheduling, resource allocation, and risk assessment.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and site visits as needed.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends, construction costs, and market conditions to enhance estimating accuracy.
- Implement best practices and innovative approaches to improve the estimating process.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to expand skills and knowledge.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the project team, including project managers, superintendents, and other estimators, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to build strong relationships and facilitate project success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a commercial construction estimator.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
