Irrigation Technician
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Irrigation Technician to install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems for residential, commercial, or municipal landscapes. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of irrigation systems, plumbing principles, and landscaping needs, with a commitment to efficient water use and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems, including pipes, valves, timers, sprinkler heads, and pumps.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify leaks, malfunctions, or inefficiencies.
- Adjust system settings for seasonal changes to optimize water usage.
- Perform system winterization and spring start-up services.
- Read and interpret irrigation plans, blueprints, and manufacturer instructions.
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate job status and recommendations to clients or supervisors.
- Ensure all work complies with local plumbing and irrigation codes.
- Operate equipment such as trenchers, pipe locators, and other hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service and educate clients on system operation and maintenance.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications (e.g., Certified Irrigation Technician CIT) preferred.
- Proven experience in irrigation system installation and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of irrigation hydraulics, electrical systems, and water conservation practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in outdoor environments.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and perform manual labor.
- Valid driver s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Backflow prevention certification.
- Familiarity with smart irrigation systems and controllers.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
