Job Description

Superintendent, Commercial Construction (Local, Indianapolis)


5+ years of experience overseeing ground-up projects in K12, Higher Education, Healthcare or large Industrial. Project scope $20M-$60M+.


Project Management:

  • Lead and coordinate all construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.

Quality Control:

  • Implement and enforce quality control and safety measures on the construction site.
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and lead on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to site personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Communication:

  • Maintain open and transparent communication with project stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing regular updates.
    • Collaborate with project managers to report project status, identify issues, and propose solutions.

Problem Solving:

  • Identify and resolve construction issues and challenges in a timely manner.
    • Anticipate potential problems and proactively implement solutions to minimize project delays.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent on large-scale projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial construction processes, codes, and standards.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent project management abilities, including scheduling and budgeting.
  • Proficient in using construction management software.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification is preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, wonderful to have but not required.
