Commercial Construction Project Engineer

Our client is dedicated to delivering high-quality commercial construction projects that exceed client expectations. They are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Project Engineer to join their dynamic team.

Position Overview:

The Commercial Construction Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to support the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning & Coordination:
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Submittals & Documentation:
  • Prepare and submit construction submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, logs, and correspondence.
  • Assist in preparing monthly progress reports and updates for clients and stakeholders.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance:
  • Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with quality standards and building codes.
  • Assist in conducting quality control inspections and testing as required.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures on-site.
• Cost Control & Budgeting:
  • Assist in tracking project costs, labor hours, and materials to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices and purchase orders.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
• Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and other team members to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to field personnel as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction project engineering.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• OSHA certification or other relevant certifications preferred.
