Commercial Construction Superintendent
Our client specializes in commercial construction projects that make a difference in communities. They are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to join their growing team.
Position Overview:
The Commercial Construction Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing on-site construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and maintaining project schedules. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Management & Coordination:
- Oversee daily construction activities on-site, ensuring work is performed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary to keep projects on schedule.
- Quality Assurance & Safety:
- Ensure all work meets quality standards, building codes, and client expectations.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address any safety or quality issues.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and supervise on-site construction teams, including subcontractors and laborers.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure team members perform their roles effectively.
- Resolve any disputes or conflicts that arise on-site in a timely and professional manner.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and changes to all parties involved.
- Document all site activities, issues, and resolutions to maintain accurate records.
- Budget & Cost Control:
- Monitor construction costs and labor hours to ensure projects stay within budget.
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices, change orders, and project expenses.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize project efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a construction superintendent in commercial construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
- OSHA certification or other relevant certifications preferred.
