Our client is a leading Architectural company dedicated to delivering innovative and high-quality Millwork and Hardwood products. As they continue to expand their operations, they are seeking a talented Design Draftsman with expertise in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to join their

team.


Position Overview:


The Design Draftsman will play a crucial role in our product development process by creating detailed drawings and specifications using CAD software. Working closely with engineers, architects, and project managers, the Design Draftsman will translate conceptual designs into precise technical drawings that guide manufacturing and construction processes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, a strong technical aptitude, and a meticulous attention to detail.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. CAD Drafting: Use CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) to produce accurate and detailed drawings, schematics, and blueprints based on project requirements and specifications.
  2. Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project objectives and translate design concepts into feasible technical solutions.
  3. Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including drawings, bill of materials (BOM), specifications, and assembly instructions, to support manufacturing, construction, and installation processes.
  4. Quality Control: Review drawings and designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
  5. Revision Management: Manage drawing revisions and updates throughout the design process, incorporating feedback and making necessary adjustments to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  6. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve design issues or discrepancies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop effective solutions and mitigate risks.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on CAD software advancements, industry trends, and best practices to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality in design drafting processes.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit) with a demonstrated ability to create 2D and 3D drawings and models.
  • Strong understanding of drafting principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and technical documentation standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to review and interpret complex design requirements and specifications.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing design challenges and optimizing processes.
  • Prior experience in Architecture or related field is a plus.
