Pay Rate: Up to $19.50/hr (up to $780/weekly) depending on experience.

Multiple Positions and Shifts Available:  Day (7:00a-7:30p) - Night (7:00p-7:30a)

Patient Population: Adult to Geriatric (18-65+)


Purpose of Position:

The Direct Service Associate III is directly responsible to the LPN; RN I; RN II; RN MGR I; Administrator on Duty (AOD) for the provision of direct care to mentally ill patients in an assigned unit.  These positions provide specialized service in working with individuals with challenging, mental health, and behavior issues.

 

This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency, pandemic, or facility need. All DSA positions are required to work different shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays, and/or overtime as requested.

HIPAA Access Level: Level Two: Complete Access to PHI only for the clients/patients served/assigned
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification required for entry into position:
Minimum qualifications required:
  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license required.

Preferred:
  • Associate’s degree in human services field (including, but not limited to: sociology, behavioral health / analysis, special education, rehabilitation counseling, and psychology) and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience working directly with individuals with challenging mental health and behavior issues in a public, residential, or psychiatric hospital preferred.
  • Prior mental health, security or police experience preferred. Specialized training in the management of aggressive mental health behavior preferred.
  • Experience providing forensic direct care preferred. QMHP
  • Certification preferred.
