Electrical Journeyman
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Journeyman to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. As an Electrical Journeyman, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a variety of settings, ensuring all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes.
$25-$40/hr Based on Experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine wiring layouts and system configurations.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems and perform diagnostic testing to identify and resolve issues.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Install and connect wiring, conduit, circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical components.
- Ensure all electrical work meets safety standards and complies with local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Document all work performed, including electrical diagrams, material usage, and time spent on each job.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure timely project completion.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices or less-experienced electricians as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
- Respond to emergency service calls as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Electrician License (required).
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety regulations.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex electrical issues.
- Familiarity with a wide range of electrical tools and equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and wire strippers.
- Strong understanding of wiring, circuit protection, grounding, and electrical testing methods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with industrial or commercial electrical installations.
- Knowledge of advanced automation systems or renewable energy technologies (e.g., solar, wind, etc.).
- Certification in specialized areas, such as low-voltage systems, control systems, or fire alarm systems.
