Our client is a leading steel fabrication company specializing in Commercial Heavy Steel. With a proven track record of delivering high-quality products and services to their clients, they pride themselves on commitment to excellence and innovation in the steel fabrication industry.
They are seeking a skilled and experienced Estimator to join their team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in operations by accurately estimating project costs and timelines, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of steel fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Evaluation: Evaluate project requirements, specifications, and drawings to accurately assess material and labor requirements.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for steel fabrication projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals in response to client inquiries and invitations to tender.
- Vendor and Supplier Management: Liaise with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and assess project risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues that may impact project timelines and costs.
- Client Communication: Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and project managers to clarify project requirements and address any concerns or questions related to the estimation process.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and advancements in steel fabrication technologies to continuously improve estimation accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an estimator in the steel fabrication industry or a similar field.
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
