Electrical Helper - Equipment Maintenance

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Helper in Indianapolis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment by performing routine lubrication, inspection, and maintenance tasks. The role involves working closely with electrical and mechanical components to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

$20-$30/hr Based on Experience

Duties

• Apply lubricants to electrical components and machinery to prevent wear and ensure smooth operation.
• Perform routine inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on electrical panels, switches, relays, engine generators and other components.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems and malfunctions, collaborating with other team members to determine appropriate solutions.
• Identify and rectify issues related to electrical connections, wiring, and components.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including lubrication schedules, inspections, and repairs.
• Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders and document completed tasks.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training or certification in electrical maintenance is desirable.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Knowledge of various generator types and models.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment.
