Direct Sales Representative (Manufacturing Sales Specialist)
Position Summary
Our client, a premier manufacturing company, is seeking a motivated Direct Sales Representative. In this role, you will support senior leadership in expanding the client's brand by proactively identifying and pursuing new products, markets, and customers. You will promote the client's advanced manufacturing capabilities and services to new industries and potential clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively engage with potential customers to promote the client's services and capabilities, frequently through face-to-face meetings and relationship-building.
- Develop and execute a sales strategy to meet or exceed assigned goals, including identifying and targeting key markets and opportunities.
- Maintain thorough, up-to-date knowledge of the client's full range of services, manufacturing processes, and capabilities.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, referrals, and other proactive outreach methods.
- Prepare and submit regular (monthly) sales reports detailing performance metrics, pipeline status, open projects, and key sales activities.
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the customer onboarding and transition process to ensure smooth implementation and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal business partners and teams to ensure service offerings, proposals, and products are properly approved and processed in line with established procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (2-4 years) in a related field such as Marketing, Sales, Business, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record in direct sales or a similar customer-facing sales role.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated, self-driven, and results-oriented with a strong desire to achieve and exceed targets.
- Ability to analyze proposals, prepare compelling presentations, and effectively communicate value propositions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and non-direct reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Professional demeanor and ability to represent the client positively at all times.
Reporting Relationship
Reports directly to the Senior Vice President.
