Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Millwork Shop Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various wood materials and machinery to produce high-quality millwork products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Operate and maintain a variety of woodworking machinery including saws, routers, planers, and sanders to fabricate millwork components.
- Material Preparation: Select, cut, and prepare wood and other materials according to project specifications and drawings.
- Assembly: Assemble millwork components using glue, screws, and other fastening methods to ensure structural integrity and quality.
- Finishing: Apply stains, paints, or other finishes to millwork products to achieve the desired appearance and protection.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet company standards and customer requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with designers, project managers, and other team members to ensure seamless coordination and timely completion of projects.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in woodworking or millwork fabrication.
- Proficiency in operating woodworking machinery and hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Knowledge of wood types, grades, and finishes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
