Senior Superintendent - Multi-Family Construction

Our client is a leading construction firm specializing in multi-family residential projects. They are seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee the construction of multi-family residential projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to effectively coordinate with various stakeholders, including project managers, subcontractors, and clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for multi-family projects from inception to completion.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor project staff, including assistant superintendents, foremen, and laborers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Scheduling and Planning: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and adherence to deadlines.
  • Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure all work meets company standards and project specifications.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and address any financial discrepancies in collaboration with the project manager.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all site activities comply with safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve construction-related issues, minimizing delays and maintaining project momentum.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and change orders.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior superintendent role overseeing multi-family residential projects.
  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health Certification required; additional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED AP) are a plus.
