Distribution Center Operations Manager

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Distribution Operations Manager to lead and optimize warehouse and distribution operations. This individual will oversee day-to-day logistics functions, ensuring efficient order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, safety compliance, and team productivity. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of supply chain operations, and experience implementing process improvements in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of distribution centers, including receiving, warehousing, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- Lead and manage a team of warehouse supervisors, logistics coordinators, and hourly staff.
- Develop and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, accuracy, and cost savings.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA).
- Manage inventory control processes, including audits and cycle counts, to maintain accuracy.
- Collaborate with procurement, transportation, customer service, and sales teams to meet business goals.
- Forecast labor needs and manage staffing levels accordingly.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) partners, vendors, and carriers as needed.
- Lead initiatives related to technology upgrades and warehouse management systems (WMS).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in distribution, warehouse, or logistics management.
- Proven leadership experience with a focus on operational excellence.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automation and lean warehousing practices.
- Certification in supply chain or logistics (e.g., APICS, CSCMP).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
