Operations Supervisor - Manufacturing

SUMMARY 

Our client is seeking an Operations Supervisor that will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient production of Monoflex Products in their Largo Florida facility through effective management of resources, processes, and personnel.  This role will play a pivotal role in maintaining high-quality standards, optimizing production processes, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.   The ideal candidate will be hands on and capable of stepping into any of the production roles as needed to keep production going. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  
  • Maintain a strong safety culture by enforcing safety policies and procedures and by identifying and mitigating potential hazards and risks 
  • Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered. 
  • Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. 
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment. 
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems. 
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. 
  • Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems. 
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data. 
  • Other duties may be assigned. 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages a total of 5 to 10 employees facility.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this facility.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.


Responsibilities include:
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Clear and concise communication with employees regarding expectations and performance.
  • Obtain training for employees per individual job descriptions and/or serve as trainer to ensure employees are properly prepared to perform their job duties efficiently and safely.
  • Submit said training records to Human Resources for personnel file and training records.
  • Approve/deny requests for time off from employees and submit requests to Human Resources in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining vacation schedule for employees so as to ensure appropriate staffing levels during peak periods.

EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE

Undergraduate degree required from four-year college or university; plus five to ten years related experience and/or training. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
