PRECONSTRUCTION MANAGER


Our client is a leading construction company known for delivering exceptional projects that exceed client expectations. They are expanding their team and looking for an experienced Preconstruction Manager to play a key role in the planning and development of projects.

The Preconstruction Manager is a critical member of the team responsible for the initial planning, estimating, and coordination of construction projects. You will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are well-conceived, cost-effective, and set up for success before the construction phase begins.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients and potential clients to understand their project goals, objectives, and budget constraints.
  • Project Planning: Lead the development of project plans, including defining scope, schedule, and budget, and establishing clear project objectives.
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, considering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor services, and potential risks.
  • Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering to optimize project performance and client satisfaction.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential risks and uncertainties associated with the project and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Design Coordination: Work closely with architects and engineers to coordinate the design process, ensuring alignment with project objectives and budget.
  • Vendor and Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and reliable partnerships.
  • Proposal Development: Assist in the preparation of comprehensive and competitive project proposals for clients, including detailed scopes of work and project timelines.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to construction phases.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and market conditions to inform decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Preconstruction Manager in the construction industry.
  • Strong proficiency in construction estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations (preferred).
