Project Manager Custom Woodworking
Our client is a leading provider of bespoke, high-end custom woodworking services. They specialize in creating unique, handcrafted wood pieces that elevate residential and commercial spaces. They are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to join their team and oversee the successful execution of custom woodworking projects from start to finish.
Position Summary:
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing high-end custom woodworking projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role requires a deep understanding of the custom woodworking industry, strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, designers, and the production team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Coordination:
- Manage the entire lifecycle of custom woodworking projects from initial concept to final installation, ensuring all milestones are met.
- Collaborate with clients, designers, and the woodworking team to define project scope, design specifications, budget, and timeline.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating all phases of the project to ensure smooth execution.
- Source and manage materials, tools, and resources needed for each project, ensuring quality and cost control.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Supervise and provide direction to carpenters, woodworkers, and other team members involved in the project.
- Ensure that the production team adheres to quality standards and works efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Conduct regular progress meetings with clients and team members to address any issues or concerns and provide status updates.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing questions, concerns, and updates throughout the project.
- Build strong client relationships by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining high levels of satisfaction.
- Work closely with designers and architects to ensure the final product aligns with client vision and expectations.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure the project stays within financial parameters.
- Identify any cost-saving opportunities or potential challenges and recommend solutions.
- Quality Control & Risk Management:
- Ensure that all custom woodwork meets the company s high standards for craftsmanship, finish, and durability.
- Identify potential risks or challenges early in the project and proactively address them to minimize delays or cost overruns.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, schedules, and communication logs.
- Provide regular project status reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and next steps.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Interior Design, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing high-end custom woodworking or similar construction-related projects.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects with a high level of client interaction and satisfaction.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of woodworking processes, materials, and craftsmanship.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, Asana, or similar).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.
