Senior Accountant

Our client is urgently seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant with specialized experience in Real Estate to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, coupled with extensive knowledge and understanding of Real Estate operations. This role offers the opportunity to take on a leadership position within our finance department, contributing to the strategic financial management.

Job Summary:

• Prepare and maintain the financial books and records for the real estate private equity portfolio, specifically its fund entities
• Monthly review of investments and coordinate with Asset Management and Property Management teams
• Assumes reporting responsibility for a portfolio of properties
• Prepares monthly financial statements
• Accumulates supporting documentation to financial statements
• Prepares and records periodic journal entries
• Estimates and records accruals
• Bank reconciliation for operating/savings/entity/fund accounts
• Maintains checking account balances and assists in managing daily cash flow
• Ensures proper payment and recording of debt instruments
• Assist in year-end audit and reporting process including coordination with clients, auditors and tax teams
• Upon request, computes various performance measures, projections and analyses and participates in covenant calculations, proformas and appraisals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of fund accounting experience in Real Estate Private Equity where the candidate has gained financial products knowledge
• General knowledge of real estate development transactions
• Ability to think independently, solve problems, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Extensive Microsoft Suite skills (Experience with Sage Required)
