Senior Buyer - Manufacturing

Our client is a leading manufacturing company committed to delivering high-quality products to their global customer base. As part of their continuous growth, they are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Buyer to join their dynamic procurement team.

Summary:

The Senior Buyer will play a pivotal role in the procurement process, responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and services essential for our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing:

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to ensure a consistent supply of quality materials while optimizing costs.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct negotiations, and establish long-term partnerships.

1. Vendor Management:

• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, monitor performance, and conduct regular supplier assessments.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, and financial stability to mitigate risks and ensure continuity of supply.

1. Contract Negotiation:

• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, including pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with legal and other relevant departments to ensure contracts are in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

1. Cost Optimization:

• Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and economic indicators to anticipate changes in the cost of goods.

1. Quality Assurance:

• Collaborate with quality control and production teams to ensure that purchased materials meet the required quality standards.
  • Implement processes to address and resolve supplier quality issues promptly.

1. Inventory Management:

• Work closely with the inventory management team to optimize stock levels, minimize excess inventory, and improve inventory turns.
  • Implement just-in-time procurement strategies where applicable.

1. Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations affecting procurement and adjust strategies accordingly.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master s degree preferred.
• Proven experience as a Senior Buyer in a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and contract negotiation.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPM) is a plus.
