Senior HR Generalist


Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior HR Generalist to join their growing team. The Senior HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting and advancing HR operations, with a focus on employee relations, talent management, performance management, compliance, and organizational development. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of HR strategies that support business goals and foster a positive, productive work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management and staff on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Address and resolve employee concerns, conflicts, and disciplinary issues, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Conduct investigations into workplace issues (e.g., complaints, harassment, performance concerns), ensuring fair and equitable outcomes.
  • Promote a positive organizational culture by supporting employee engagement and morale initiatives.

2. Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Lead and manage full-cycle recruitment for various positions across departments, from job posting to offer acceptance.
  • Partner with hiring managers to assess staffing needs, create job descriptions, and ensure a smooth hiring process.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a positive experience and smooth transition into the organization.

3. Performance Management:

  • Support the performance management process, including the development of performance appraisals, feedback mechanisms, and improvement plans.
  • Coach managers on how to provide constructive feedback, set clear goals, and manage underperformance.
  • Ensure alignment between individual and organizational goals, facilitating career development discussions with employees.

4. Compensation & Benefits:

  • Assist in the development and administration of compensation strategies, ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Support the benefits administration process, including open enrollment, plan changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of compensation trends and benefit programs to ensure competitiveness.

5. Compliance & Legal:

  • Ensure the organization s HR practices are in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Stay current on labor law developments, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEO regulations, and update policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and prepare reports as required for audits or legal purposes.

6. Training & Development:

  • Identify training and development needs for employees and managers, and coordinate relevant programs to enhance skills and productivity.
  • Promote leadership development and succession planning initiatives to foster talent growth and career progression.
  • Collaborate with other HR team members to ensure the continuous development of HR-related training programs.

7. HR Projects & Strategy:

  • Assist with HR strategy development and contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and programs.
  • Lead or participate in special projects such as HR system upgrades, culture initiatives, and diversity & inclusion efforts.
  • Monitor and report on key HR metrics, providing insights to senior leadership on trends and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of HR experience, with at least 2-3 years in a generalist role at a senior level.
  • Proven experience in employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and compliance.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and other HR software tools.
  • High level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
