Senior Project Manager - Commercial Construction
Our client is a leading commercial construction firm specializing in innovative and high-quality building and higher education building projects. They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to oversee and drive the successful completion of commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Management:
- Lead the planning and implementation of commercial construction projects.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Develop full-scale project plans, timelines, and milestones.
- Manage project budget, schedule, and resources.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of project teams, including subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide clear direction and support to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring their needs are met.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communication between all parties involved in the project.
- Quality and Safety Management:
- Ensure all work complies with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures.
- Oversee the safety program and ensure a safe working environment.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process.
- Financial Oversight:
- Monitor project financial performance, including cost control and cash flow management.
- Approve project expenditures and manage contracts and change orders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in higher education commercial construction project management.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project).
- PMP or similar project management certification preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
