Sr. Superintendent (Local, Columbus, OH)


Our client is a leading construction firm specializing in commercial projects of significant scale and complexity. With a proven track record of delivering high-quality results within budget and on schedule, they are committed to excellence and innovation in the construction industry.


5+ years of experience overseeing ground-up projects in K12, Higher Education, Healthcare or large Industrial. Project scope $20M-$60M+.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management:
  • Oversee all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, ensuring alignment with client expectations, contractual requirements, and safety regulations.
    • Coordinate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure smooth project execution.
  1. Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead and supervise construction teams, including site supervisors, foremen, and construction workers, providing guidance, direction, and mentorship.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and high-quality workmanship.
    • Conduct regular site meetings to communicate project objectives, address concerns, and provide updates on project progress.
  1. Quality Control and Safety Compliance:
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues, address deficiencies, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
    • Collaborate with safety officers to enforce safety guidelines, conduct safety training sessions, and promote a culture of safety on construction sites.
  1. Construction Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily progress reports, work schedules, change orders, and material requisitions.
    • Generate comprehensive reports on project status, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and solutions.
    • Collaborate with the project management team to analyze project metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures.
  1. Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution:
  • Proactively identify potential construction issues, resolve conflicts, and provide innovative solutions to mitigate project risks.
    • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities to address concerns, negotiate changes, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role, with a track record of successfully managing complex construction projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and a commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
