Maintenance Manager Long-Term Care Facility
Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for maintaining safe, efficient, and welcoming environments? We re looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to take charge of operations at our long-term care facility. In this role, you ll be the go-to expert for keeping everything running smoothly from HVAC systems to plumbing while ensuring our residents and staff enjoy a secure, comfortable space every day.
What You ll Do:
- Lead and support our maintenance team scheduling, assigning tasks, and overseeing daily operations.
- Design and manage a proactive preventative maintenance program to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Monitor expenses and stay on budget, including ordering supplies and working with outside vendors.
- Make sure all major systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevators, etc.) are functioning safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify problems early and plan corrective measures.
- Coordinate external contractors for specialized repairs or upgrades.
- Keep thorough records for inspections, audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay up to date with healthcare facility regulations (CMS, OSHA, ADA, etc.).
- Take charge in emergencies like outages or system failures to keep things safe and operational.
- Work closely with nursing and administrative staff to ensure the facility supports quality care and smooth operations.
What You ll Need:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; a degree in Facility Management, Engineering, or similar is a bonus.
- Experience: 5+ years in facility maintenance, with at least 2 in healthcare or long-term care settings.
- Certifications:
- HVAC certification is highly valued
- Other certifications like Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or related technical credentials are also a plus.
Skills:
- Deep understanding of building systems and maintenance practices
- Strong leadership and team management
- Solid problem-solving and critical thinking
- Clear, effective communication and documentation skills
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and maintenance software (like CMMS)
