Sr. Project Engineer
The Sr. Project Engineer is responsible for coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects. The employee in this role is the right-hand person to the Project Manager and Project Superintendent. In this critical role, the PE plans, schedules, completes and coordinates assigned engineering work, monitors work for applicable code compliance, accepted engineering practices and ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all project participants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports management of the weekly recap
- Creates bill of material, detailed layout, installation of equipment, and pipe
- Tracks material deliveries
- Performs elevation surveys and layout and keeps field book accurate
- Assists with monthly and quarterly profit projections
- Uses bid book for production budgeting
- Updates the cost code bid book
- Assists in estimating pending change orders by sourcing and pricing materials
- Compiles, enters and submits request for information (RFI)
- Sets up Recap and Buy out sheets
- Assists with buyout (purchase orders) of Division Projects
- Assists with project schedules, that are entered into Primavera P6 and updated monthly
- Willing to build proficiency in the understanding of
- UG Pipe drawings
- FL Pipe drawings
- Construction lift drawings
- Sheeting drawings
- Excavation drawings
- Other duties as assigned
Essential and Required Qualifications and Skills
- College Degree in relevant field, eg, Construction Management, Construction Management Technology, Engineering
- Valid Driver s License
- Highly proficient computer, cell and email skills
- Committed to working safely
- Highly motivated, organized, and detail oriented
- Professional with effective communication skills
- Results-oriented with ability to influence people and manage tasks in a deadline driven environment
- Ability to thoroughly understand and follow plans and specifications in the construction of projects
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire work shift of 8, 10 or longer hours
- Ability to stand, walk and safely navigate uneven footing on jobsites for an entire work shift of 8, 10 or longer hours
- Ability to work on jobsites in all types of weather conditions
Preferred experience and qualifications
- Prior us of ProCore, CAD, BlueBeam
- Field experience in estimating, purchasing, submittal review, and cost control
- Experience in concrete, excavation, underground and exposed piping
- Experience in heavy civil, industrial or mechanical type projects
