Senior Project Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale construction projects in the manufacturing and advanced manufacturing sectors. This role requires a strong background in construction management, particularly in industrial, manufacturing, or advanced manufacturing environments. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of complex projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role also involves extensive coordination with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage large, complex construction projects within the manufacturing and advanced manufacturing sectors, ensuring alignment with client objectives, timelines, budgets, and safety standards.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues.
- Team Coordination & Leadership: Supervise project teams, including project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other key personnel. Ensure teams are working cohesively, with clear roles and responsibilities, to meet project goals.
- Budget & Cost Control: Develop, manage, and track project budgets. Implement cost-saving measures where possible, monitor expenditures, and ensure that the project stays within financial constraints.
- Schedule Management: Create, maintain, and update detailed project schedules, ensuring that critical milestones are met. Proactively address any delays or obstacles to keep the project on track and ensure timely delivery.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks (e.g., technical, financial, regulatory) and develop mitigation strategies. Address issues promptly and make decisions to keep the project moving forward without compromising quality.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Oversee the quality control process to ensure the construction work adheres to industry standards, local codes, and client specifications. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including those specific to manufacturing and industrial settings.
- Safety Oversight: Ensure that all construction activities comply with OSHA safety standards and other relevant safety protocols. Maintain a strong safety culture and provide ongoing training and awareness to the project team.
- Contractor & Subcontractor Management: Manage relationships with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring they are delivering quality work on time and within budget. Review and approve work orders, invoices, and change orders as necessary.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, improve efficiency, and apply best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Advanced Manufacturing Focus: Provide specialized knowledge in construction projects for advanced manufacturing facilities, including clean rooms, automated production lines, and high-tech infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, or industrial construction projects.
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. A Master s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
- Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, advanced manufacturing technologies (such as automation and robotics), and the specific requirements of industrial and manufacturing construction.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage large, multidisciplinary teams. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to motivate, manage, and develop team members.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Microsoft Project). Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards specific to the manufacturing sector.
- Problem Solving & Decision Making: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and handle complex project challenges.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex information to clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Travel Requirements: Must be willing to travel to job sites as needed (up to 30% of the time, depending on project location).
