Sr. Superintendent (Commercial Construction )



We are looking for an experienced Superintendent II to join our dynamic team. This position is local to Columbus, OH and No travel will be required. Our client has been consistently rated as a top place to work in Columbus for the past 5 years. As a Superintendent II, you will oversee and coordinate the construction process of commercial projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your leadership and expertise will be critical in managing on-site activities, subcontractors, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and manage detailed construction schedules, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion of milestones.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and enforce quality control procedures, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds project specifications and industry standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Budget Adherence: Monitor project costs and report on budget variances. Work with project managers to resolve any financial issues and avoid cost overruns.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Manage and oversee subcontractors, ensuring they meet their contractual obligations and maintain high-quality work standards.
  • Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between the project team, clients, and stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress and address any issues promptly.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and incident reports.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.
  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field a plus but not required. Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, LEED) are a plus.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations. Proficient in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Leadership: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team of construction professionals.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
