Staff Accountant with Public Accounting and working toward CPA License

Location: North Side of Indianapolis (REMOTE FLEXIBILITY)

About Our Client: Our client is a prestigious and dynamic organization situated on the north side of Indianapolis. They are renowned for their commitment to excellence and have a strong presence in the industry. They are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Staff Accountant to join their team.

Position Overview: As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our client's organization. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including but not limited to, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and tax preparation assistance. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in public accounting while working towards obtaining your CPA License.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Provide support for annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Assist with tax preparation and filing.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
  • Other accounting-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in public accounting.
  • Actively working towards obtaining a CPA License.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
