Staff Accountant
Job Description
Our client is a leading construction company dedicated to delivering high-quality projects with a commitment to excellence. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join their finance team and contribute to the success of construction projects.
Responsibilities:

Project Cost Accounting:
- Monitor and analyze project costs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with project managers to review budget variances and provide explanations for discrepancies.
- Track and report on project financial performance, identifying areas for cost optimization.

General Ledger Maintenance:
- Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, verifying expenses, and issuing payments.
- Oversee accounts receivable processes, including invoicing and collections.

Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial reports for management, highlighting key financial metrics and trends.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.

Compliance and Regulations:
- Ensure compliance with construction industry regulations and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with external auditors during periodic audits.

Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in construction accounting.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
