Structural Engineer / Detailer
Our client is a dynamic and innovative engineering firm specializing in structural design and detailing and is seeking a talented and motivated Structural Engineer / Detailer to join their growing team.
Position Overview:
As a Structural Engineer / Detailer, you will play a crucial role in the structural design and detailing process. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and drafters to ensure the successful completion of projects from concept to construction. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including commercial buildings, industrial structures, and infrastructure projects and requires a strict attention to detail and thoroughness.
Key Responsibilities:

Structural Design:
- Conduct structural analysis and design calculations for various types of structures.
- Utilize engineering software and tools to create efficient and innovative structural solutions.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.

Detailing and Drafting:
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, plans, and specifications using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Generate accurate and clear construction documents for use in the field.
- Collaborate with drafters to ensure drawings align with design intent.

Quality Assurance:
- Perform thorough reviews of drawings and calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Address and resolve design issues and discrepancies during the project lifecycle.

Client Interaction:
- Work closely with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise.
- Communicate effectively to convey complex engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers to establish project timelines and deliverables.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to integrate structural designs into overall project plans.
Qualifications:
- 5 years minimum verifiable experience in structural steel detailing in the steel fabrication & erection industry is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred.
- Proven experience in structural design and detailing, with a focus on commercial and industrial projects.
- Experience in Fabrication
- Proficiency in engineering software - SDS2
- Strong understanding of relevant building codes and standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
